A mental health perspective
|
"From my perspective, the LNR CLAHRC provides a unique opportunity over the next few years. Not only will the CLAHRC undertake major research studies, but it offers access to academic and project management expertise not available in many areas of the NHS. As a Trust, Leicestershire Partnership, in part through the development of the LPT Academy has the objective of being recognised as a nationally and internationally recognised centre of excellence in leading and collaborating in the delivery of patient care, education and research. In parallel with this is the corporate vision for equality, rights and inclusion to be at the heart of all that we do. Clearly therefore, these objectives are closely aligned with those of the CLAHRC itself, in developing capacity to undertake and utilise research, and in developing “research-mindedness” amongst staff and service users. It is however in the potential of forging a closer alliance of academic expertise, to deliver real and meaningful change for clinicians and service users that the greatest opportunities lie." |
Dave Clarke, Head of Portfolio for Research Audit and Evaluation, Leicestershire Partnership Trust, talks about his experience and views on CLAHRC-LNR, how the Trust is working with the CLAHRC and what he hopes will be the legacy of this relationship. |
