The aim was to improve access and acceptability of the genetics service provided by the Department of Clinical Genetics based at the Leicester Royal Infirmary.
Medical physics
The Leicestershire Department of Medical Physics is a partnership between the University of Leicester and UHL which provides expertise in physical sciences in medicine to healthcare providers throughout Leicestershire. Specifically, research has focussed on physiological measurements, mechanical engineering and medical electronics. A summary of research projects and publications are available

More than 60 clinical trials have been conducted at the site at the Glenfield Hospital since it was established in 1993 and is currently running a number of studies focussed on asthma, bronchiectasis and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). A summary of current research projects is available.
