Early Stroke Care - Improving early presentation of TIA/stroke patients to specialist services

Summary: This study is a cluster-randomised study in primary health care and will be focusing on the recommended interventions arising from another research study (the BEATS study), targeted at patient, public and health care professional education, and supported by agreed local protocols for assessment, investigation and management of TIA/ stroke. The interventions derived from the BEATS study results, will be also be informed by our research in the diabetes population, where there is significant local expertise in self-management and education and assessment of vascular risk.

Study outcomes:
- If successful, people in LNR who experience a stroke or TIA will see a specialist as soon as possible and the necessary medical/surgical/rehabilitation interventions will be delivered faster
